- Time: 1pm-2pm
- CPD value: 1 hour
- Speakers from: Stone King
Agenda
Stone King will be delivering a webinar on the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, more commonly known as Martyn’s Law. This is named after Martyn Hett, a victim of the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017; incidents such as this provide the impetus for the protections this Bill seeks to provide.
Although the Bill is not yet live and is still making its way through the parliamentary process, there is currently set to be a new “Protect Duty” imposed on schools and academies amongst other organisations in relation to the premises they control. Anticipating whether your organisation is caught by the Bill and the consequent scope of the duty on it will be key to being adequately prepared for Martyn’s Law to come into force.
This webinar will cover:
- The background to the Bill and why it has been drafted;
- Which organisations will be caught under its provisions;
- The nature and extent of the Protect Duty; and
- The regulatory regime that will monitor the performance of the Protect Duty.
