Managing the School Estate Summit 2021

Ensuring a well maintained school estate: now and in the future

This conference is brought to you in partnership with the Department for Education and in association with GEMS (Good Estate Management for schools) and The Trust Network.  This event will take place entirely online on 24th March 2021 and there is no charge to attend for those directly employed by a school or public sector body.  You can register for your place here

High-profile, expert speakers from both public and private sectors will deliver inspirational and informative presentations in the morning plenary, after which the day will continue with a range of focussed learning opportunities based on best practice case studies in a series of breakout sessions.  This event is aimed at all personnel involved in school estate management, from those who are new to the role to those who wish to extend and build their expertise in this important area.

Speakers at the Managing the School Estate Summit include:

  • Chair: Lara Newman, Chief Executive, LocatED
  • Baroness Berridge, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the School System
  • Mike Green, Chief Operating Officer, Department for Education and Director General of the Operations Group
  • Rory Kennedy, Director of Capital, Department for Education

The focus will be on the school estate and the importance of strategic estate management. We will explain why and how effectively managing the school estate will help schools to make the most of their resources.

The conference will be interactive and will allow for discussion and debate about how we build, manage and maintain the school estate and the skills and tools that are needed to get the job done.
